What Is Cardiac Nursing?

In cardiac nursing, nurses specialize in caring for patients who suffer from various conditions and diseases associated with the cardiovascular system. What Key Skills Do You Need For A Cardiac Nursing Career?

Following this, you then need to sit the National Council Licensure Examination in order to become a registered nurse and receive a license. All cardiac nurses also need to possess a Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support certification in addition to more specialized skills like medication administration from intravenous drip and electrocardiogram monitoring.

It goes without saying that to have a long and successful cardiac nursing career, you’ll also need to be extremely caring, have the ability to keep calm in a crisis and be able to work under pressure. Just like any other nursing job, you’ll also need to be willing to work long hours and be able to work in highly stressful situations.
